Buro Happold Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Padraic Kelly became the managing director (MD) engineering services firm Buro Happold in 1996. One of his first initiatives "aim for growth," which was intended to help the company move beyond its current size, where it was limited to the structure of having each of the founding partners of the firm, is responsible for a group of 25-30 engineers. This initiative has been very successful, but then the firm was the lack of leadership skills at all levels of the organization to manage the company is much larger, growing 10 times over 10 years. In response, Buro Happold has developed its first formal internal training program called "Archimedes Academy." The first two programs were (1) The work program manager for senior engineers and designed to help them be more effective in working with clients, and (2 ) Program Project Manager, is designed for project managers and designed to help them develop the "soft" management skills to complement their technical. Archimedes Academy distinctive feature is that these early programs were developed and delivered cohors who first attended them.
