This Focus Case is about a young Danish VC-backed technology business in the supply chain applications sector. To his own surprise, Jacob "only hired as the brand new VP Sales" was unexpectedly made CEO of the organization by the VCs. Beside the private challenge, he quickly recognized chief problems in the company. The current contracts in place were not best for the company, the business model looked incorrect, and internationalization was an important dilemma.

While trying to sort out these issues, a much bigger problem abruptly hit the small-scale business with total impact: the new product upgrade which was designed to make their option a full scale one with new attributes etc. and was guaranteed to all customers failed miserably, shoving the young startup into a severe near-death crisis. Could Jacob manage to turn Forbind Systems approximately, although opportunities of survival appeared not really great?
