Pricing Games: Sony PlayStation and Microsoft Xbox Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

It does not have to be, although economical game theory may be a hard and tedious notion. This exercise allows students to learn about game theory via an amusing medium - video games. Students are asked to compute pricing strategies based off game theory predictions after considering a pricing war between Sony, Microsoft and two video game giants. Pupils must utilize a 2-by-2 simultaneous one-shot game (like the Prisoner's Dilemma framework) to ascertain if one or both companies will cut prices.
