Icelands Energy Policy: Finding the Right Path Forward Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Iceland has two unique features. First, it has one of the most unique landscapes in the world. Country twice, Switzerland, he has only 300,000 inhabitants, and thus most of their sparsely populated regions. Second, it also has access to a significant amount of "green energy" in the form of geothermal and hydroelectric power in the future, maybe the wind. Next in Iceland green energy is relatively inexpensive. These two attributes are set in motion a major debate - Iceland should accelerate the development of its green energy by bringing more energy-intensive industries to locate in the country and possibly export some of its power in Europe or whether it should slow down the development of the power and focus on preservation of unique natural resources and increase its tourism industry?
