4.BELIEF AND SCIENCE IN THE 21ST CENTURY:

According to the Schulz’s argument on induction and belief, it reflects that the belief in the reflection of science in 21st century is not the same in comparison to the 19th century’s. The factor “belief” played an important role. The belief is the self-evaluation of an individual who theorize in their mind about certain things that what is right and what is wrong. The science and technology in the 21st century are based on reasoning and derivation which helps the people to come out of their common belief which can give erroneous conclusions and set their belief according to their findings and researches. (Schulz, 2011)

5.SIGNIFICANCE OF EQUATING BELIEFS WITH THEORIES:

Kathryn Schulz had emphasized on belief by relating it to the theories. Schulz stated that the belief made by humans or individuals are based on certain theories which are generated in their mind by assuming several factors which includes assumptions, evidences and perceptions. These theories create the firm belief of an individual about a particular thing which they consider right and if someone doesn’t agree with their belief they think of them being wrong. For example; the individual can create a belief that his mattress is solid which theorizes in his mind that where to sit after entering in the room. This belief could be changed if he fell down on floor and realize that the floor is more solid which will create a new theory in his mind. (Schulz, 2011)

6.ARGUMENT AGAINST BEING HAPPY AS A LIFE-OBJECTIVE:

Schulz argument of being happy as a life objective undergoes many factors. If an individual remains happy and makes this an objective of his life, this objective will collide with his ability to accept change when beliefs and assumptions need to be changed. The person can only be happy by realizing that what he knows and what he did in his life is right without any error which makes that person realize that he doesn’t need to change because he is right whereas he may not. Schulz also support the statement that individual should make his objective of being happy with considering that he does not know everything and does not have an entire accuracy in the knowledge he acquires. According to Schulz, individuals should be ready to accept the errors in their knowledge and beliefs and should focus on correcting their errors while remaining happy and welcoming to correct their errors. (Schulz, 2011)

7.ROLE OF HUMAN IMAGINATION IN BEING WRONG:

Being wrong should not be an irregular thing and individuals should get angry or irritated after realizing that they are wrong. Individuals should learn from their mistakes which makes them to state their conclusion with error. Learning from mistakes and correcting them will help the individuals to be less erroneous in the future by implementing what they’ve learnt from the previous mistakes. Confabulation also plays an important role in the imagination of being wrong. Example of confabulation is when scientists gave commands to the right brain ("laugh", "walk"), then asked the patient to explain why they were laughing or walking.  Patients would make up a reason, like "you guys are too much" or "thirsty and going to get a drink".  Left brain needed to come up with a reason for behavior, but didn't get the information from the right brain about the real reason, so left brain theorizes backwards from behavior. Subjects had no confusion, no noticeable time lag, and no appearance of doubt or intent to deceive. (Schulz, ch.4). So according to confabulation when no theory is stored in individual minds then to tackle the situation they create their own theory because of the perception of human nature about not knowing being a disgrace and not accepting the truth about themselves of not knowing. (Schulz, 2011)

8.SCIENCE FROM A CONTROVERSY IN PHYSICS:

The main idea gauged and generated from the article “Science from a controversy in physics” is “If poetry is emotion recollected in tranquility, then science is tranquility recollected in emotion”. Schulz reasoning for this idea is that science can now be more beneficial and has changed or can further change the belief of many people. For example people who believed that the bones and teeth of the person are damaged or get weaken with the passage of time. This belief of the individual has changed in the 21st century as the science has developed and emerged the findings which can delay the process of weakening of human organs with the passage of time.............
