Supply chain supervision of the aviation spare parts is characterized by strict regulations, tight turnaround and lead time, numbers that were large and high-priced components. Managing spare parts in the aviation industry, therefore, has always been a challenge for all airline operators, and Cathay Pacific is no exception. Spare parts operations at Cathay Pacific covered repair management, inventory management, procurement and logistics management.
All procurement and stock management is handled by Cathay Pacific in-house whilst third party logistics providers are applying for logistics management and repair. In this event, the pupil is asked to analyze various choices to optimize the supply chain management and instigate procedure advancement of aviation spare parts operations at Cathay Pacific.
