X-IT and Kidde (A) Case Solution

Involves a start up, X-IT Products LLC, whose founders had designed an advanced, lightweight, and simple-to-use--yet strong--escape ladder. After X- a patent application had filed for the ladder in America, X- Kidde PLC, among the biggest sellers of fire protection products approached IT on the planet. Discussions to license X- the creation of IT's or to purchase X-IT ensued.
After the X-IT creators viewed Kidde representatives showing a ladder at a major trade show that was virtually identical to X-it is ladder, X-it is CEO had to determine what to do. Although suing for breaking the confidentiality agreement Kidde was an alternative, X-IT just had adequate cash to fill orders, as well as pay lawyer fees.
