A recent MBA graduate has just received a one-year business appointment as a small business development and advertising adviser to work with the Vietnam Handicraft Initiative (VHI), a vocational training and employment centre for people with disabilities, located in Central Vietnam.
Her task is to help the VHI strengthen the capability of the organization through improved business and marketing plans, become sustainable and to increase its productivity. Within the first four weeks of her arrival, she must detail her assessment of the VHI and supply recommendations that are crucial and focused work goals for the enduring 11 months of her assignment. She look forward to the several cultural dissimilarities encountered along the way and will give a serious challenge in developing a detailed work plan and accurately evaluating the VHI.
