The strategy is a mechanism by which the company has a sense of the world around him. It is a collection of ideas about how the company is going to win, the source code on which all else depends. Because the strategy reflects the best ideas of the company at a given time, the author argues that the strategy and the program should be updated and improved as people gain new knowledge and experience. In traditional approaches to development strategy, the author argues, planning is optimized for the original purpose; hard to change direction once implementation is underway. Adaptive processes enable companies to create and adapt the strategy quickly and repeatedly, so people can sort the issues and the allocation of resources in a changing environment, they are optimized to identify the best ideas and ensure that people throughout the organization have access to the latest version, so that everyday activities can be combined the most important strategic ideas.
