ROQ.AD and the Ad-Tech Industry Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

By August 2015, Berlin-based advertisements technology enterprise Roq.ad had grown from a chance encounter between its two co founders to become a revenue producing operation with 18 full time workers in Germany and Poland -- in just 10 months. Their goal was to develop new cross-device, user-recognition technology that would enable advertisers to precisely target consumers across a variety of devices, including peripheral devices and personal computers. Roq.ad's co founders decided from the start not to seek out venture capital and instead to keep tight control of their company.

Given the lead time needed to develop technology, they would also determined to use an industry standard agency model for generating earnings that would be used to finance the development of technology and the eventual launching of the program.
