In July 2008, the Deputy Chairman, General Electric (GE), President and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), GE Energy Infrastructure, thinking about the fact, GE has to re-enter the market for wind power in India. Financial incentives have been announced by the Government of India for wind operators that generate power through wind energy. These incentives can encourage the development of the market, so that GE can effectively use technology because of its wind turbines. However, more recently, in 2005, GE Energy pulled out of the Indian market after the disappointments in the country.
