WARDA: Leading a Rice Revolution in West Africa Case Solution

The West Africa Rice Development Association along with different national and international partners was developing and transferring new rice technologies to farmers throughout Central and West Africa. The area didn't produce enough rice to satisfy local need, while creation in West Africa was growing faster than any other part of the world.As director general of the Organization, Kanayo Nwanze considered that West African authorities in general didn't give enough attention to agricultural research because its impact was not overly easy to quantify. Nwanze had to determine the best way to alter the mindset of national policy makers and place agricultural research on the front burner.
