The California Global Warming Solutions Act (AB 32) Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

In November 2010, California voters had to decide whether to support the ballot proposal that would effectively end the innovative state efforts to combat global warming. In 2006, the California legislature passed Assembly Bill (AB) 32, the "California Global Warming Solutions Act," a law requiring that California reduce its greenhouse gas emissions to 1990 levels by 2020. AB 32 supporters argued that it would activate other states to make similar commitments, and will help the economy of California, promoting the development of industries that would be national and global leaders in the increasingly important "green" economy.
