Maximizing Productivity in Diverse Teams Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Organizations increasingly depend on a variety of groups to develop innovative products and improve efficiency, and will be more effective if they combine a diverse set of professionals to solve complex problems. Working in different teams can be tricky, however: while the more perspectives can be useful, the nature of the diversity of the team can make it difficult for team members to communicate, coordinate their work, as well as perform. To better understand the impact on the diversity of teams, the authors discuss the different types of diversity and how they relate to the use of information, focusing on two types of diversity that are particularly relevant to the performance of complex cognitive tasks: a variety of education and citizenship.
