Part # 1:
Question # 1a:
Duration of active labour

After creating a histogram for the duration of active labour, it was found that the variable data are not normal as the curve of the data is not bell-shaped. The curve of the data is right skewed or positively skewed meaning that the tail is longer to the right and the mean is to the right of the peak.
The duration of active labouris from 1 to 20 hours in which it was found that most of the woman delivery takes around 2 – 5 hours but there are some that required 5 – 15 hours and some cases took up to 20 hours for delivery. The center for the duration of active labour is that it takes 10 hours for the delivery of the baby whereas the spread of data is less.
Duration of Infant birth weight

In the histogram, the infant birth weight is normal as the curve of the bar is bell shaped. The pattern of the bell-shaped curve is also known as the normal distribution. Majority of the infants which are newly born have an average weight around 3 – 4 kg and there are very few which have weight around 4 – 6 kg. The center for the infant birth weight is that most of thechildren’s weight is around 3.5 kg whereas the spread of data is less.
Question #1b

Question # 1c:

Question # 1d:
The estimatedodds of the severe PPH in the case-control study and estimated odds of severe PPH in the preliminary analysis areestimated equallyto the results of both the finding which were 0.32941. The reason for being equal to the number of patients with PPH was 250 and the overall number of women admitted to the hospital wasaround 850. Bydividing the number of patients 250 with the overall number of women in thehospital, the odds of severe PPH are 0.32941.
Question # 1e:
The severe PPH in the case control study probability of PPH was calculated to be 0.32941 whereas the probability of women admitted tohospital not getting PPH is 0.67059. This shows that odds of severe PPH could be present inthe case control study.
Question # 1f:
The severe PPH in the preliminary analysis was determined to be 0.5481whereas the probability of women admitted tohospital not acquiring PPH is -0.4519. This shows that odds of severe PPH could be present on preliminary analysis.
Part # 2:
Question #2a:

Question # 2b:
By using the software Stata, a simple logistic regression had been conducted on the severe PPH, induction of labour and Primigrav. Whereas the severe PPH is the dependent variable and the induction of labour and Primigrav are the independent variable. Overall number ofwomen admitted to the hospitals was 850. The results of the regression were that 95% confidence for the induction of labourwas1.667 and the Primigrav was 1.178. Whereas the interval for the induction of labourwas 3.139 and for Primigrav was 2.136.
The Odds ratio for the induction of labour had been determined to be 2.2878 and the odd ratio for Pimigrav had been determined to be 1.5868. This tells us that the occurrence of postpartum haemorrhageis highly impacted due to induction of labour incomparison to Primigrav.................
