In 2009, the H1N1 influenza pandemic posed enormous problems for the state health departments in the U.S. this case, attention to the experience of Tennessee - which has experienced an intense surge of disease in the late summer and early fall of 2009 - and examines, in particular, as public health officials, working with partners from local authorities and the private sector mobilized in anticipation of this second wave of the disease.
