Global Managers’ Perceptions of Cultural Competence Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

To function efficiently in the global business world, supervisors necessitate a powerful set of intercultural management skills. Although normally accepted as a valuable advantage for doing business, cross cultural competence defies simple definition. This study tries to conceptualize the complicated term from the professional's perspective.

What does crosscultural competence mean to global supervisors? From their viewpoint, which aspects of culture do business people need to comprehend? This study asked Mexican managers what they needed to know about culture to work with the U.S. In the method, they identified specific fundamental components of cultural competence. Responses were astonishingly similar among the managers, suggesting they had a clear picture of which ethnic essentials were significant for international executives. This research also provide trainers and business teachers a content framework for a short term training program, predicated on the global supervisors' perceptions of cross-cultural competence.
