This case analyzes the function of General Mills in the creation and direction of the Hawthorne Huddle. The Huddle was in the Hawthorne area in Northern Minneapolis, which in 1997 was harassed with poverty and high crime. The Huddle functioned as a newsgroup, held the first Thursday of each month.

It focused on resolution, and discussed, issues impacting the community. The Huddle and general Mills were focused on developing new leadership model and a transition strategy for the Huddle.
