Designing Impact Evaluations: Assessing Jamaica’s PATH Program Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

This case inquire participants to put themselves in the place of a government official responsible for selecting an evaluation design to evaluate the impact of a social system. The goal is to demonstrate the tradeoffs that are made in the real world when attempting to balance the desire for a rigorous and credible assessment layout in assessing social programs with the ethical, political, financial and logistic constraints that often appear.

Participants are requested to assess the strengths and weaknesses of three possible assessment designs using as criteria consequences that were logistical, political feasibility, the scientific rigor, and fiscal feasibility of each layout. HKS Case Number 1903.0.
