The Centre for Social Investment consisted 2006 as a main scholastic institute of Heidelberg University accepting the economics, social science, law and doctrinal professors. Its objective is to:Enhance the useful and theoretical understanding of social investment, philanthropy, civil society, and social economy organizations;Notify policy-making connecting to social investment and pertinent organizations at regional, local, worldwide and nationwide levels;Develop supervisory and governance capability in the field of social investment, and foster management and company efficiency; Display significant advancements impacting social investment in regard to markets and federal government organizations normally, and apropos of philanthropy and civil society organizations in particular.

To serve these goals, the Centre participates in 4 principal, incorporated jobs on a continuous basis: Research study, Mentor, Convening, and Outreach. CSI runs a master's program in 'Non-profit Marketing and Governance' using interdisciplinary training for potential and existing executives in non-profit business.
