Oriental builders limited (OBL) was considering to invest in the economy housing sector and wanted to analyze whether to invest in the same segment was feasible for the company or not. The company was interested in targeting the middle class segment who want to purchase apartments ranging below 2.5 million and having a size from 700 to 900 sq. ft. as the middle range or the economy housing sector was lucrative however the company was still unable to find that whether the decision to invest in it will give it a first mover advantage or will only increase their cost. Methods for collecting secondary data

The main purpose to collect data either its secondary or primary is to gain access to the information which is required to perform a specific job. The secondary data is referred to as the data which has been already collected by someone before collected by us. The secondary data is less expensive and very easily available in majority of the cases. The disadvantage of the secondary data may include the inaccuracy or the biasness of the data. There are several methods of collecting the secondary data which have been categorized in two main categories;first category is the internal sources and the second category is the external sources.

In this particular case the external sources specially the Internet will be more preferable in order to collect the data however, it may lead to inaccuracy but the chances of inaccuracy are low as the company can collect the data from RIET’s (Real Estate Investment Trust) official website and other government website to complete the proposal. The data which will be taken from the websites of government and RIETs will be more appropriate and accurate to handle with the situation.
