In June 1998, Lucent Technologies was able to win a major contract for the supply network to Y2K in Saudi Arabia. Lucent object, which runs the business with Saudi Arabia and the output for the region was in Spain. To win the contract, Lucent should be able to deliver the goods, sophisticated digital switching systems, within three weeks of receipt of details the requirements of each site. (The contract requires delivery to many sites.) The use of the existing process, it took 23-25 weeks for delivery after receipt of information provided.
