Executive Director of Bridge Adult Service Centre, Susan Thibodeau, contemplated how Bridge Grownup could provide added services and improved programming to new and current clients. Bridge Adult was a not-for-profit organization that aimed to improve the lives and encourage addition of mentally challenged folks in the communities. There were 27 additional service centres analogous to the Bridge Grownup found throughout Nova Scotia, Canada. Financing from government sources remained relatively stagnant over the years but programming and requirement needs had altered significantly in most of these centers. In order for Bridge Grownup to carry on to boost their customer offerings that are present, applications that generated revenue while simultaneously provided experiences that are meaningful for customers were crucial.

Thibodeau, in collaboration together with the Board, needed who would cause the many facets of the implementation and to establish strategic priorities for the next three years, her function in that process. It's designed to challenge students to consider differences and the similarities in implementation and strategy formulation and governing between for profit and not-for-profit organizations. It should consequently be taught as a corporate governance or strategic planning case and ideally after students have been exposed to SWOT analysis, competitive analysis, value chain analysis, government, fiscal evaluation, and growth strategies.
