Shree Cement Limited (SCL) is a unique company which has combined traditional Indian management practices and innovative initiatives based on emerging trends in modern direction. SCL has always practised a" folks first" policy that was notified by the ethos of community and a joint family, which is so integral to Indian society.
By 2012, SCL was experiencing heady company growth and also the top management was really sharp to ''cement'' the culture of worker well-being and meaningfulness at the core of its human resource practices to avoid any people-related issues becoming a bottle-neck in the journey of growth. Based on an evaluation of the results, and further focus group conversations, 18 betterment projects were commenced under the leadership of volunteers and senior managers from among the workers.

They had to take care to ensure that they took a holistic look in the consequences of all recommendations and implement an integrative group of initiatives that re-enforced each other's favorable effects rather than proceed with a potpourri of recommendations that could possibly sabotage each other's influences and worsen rather than enhance the present organizational climate.
