Reflections on the United Electric Case Discussion: Persuasion, Induction, and Grounding in the Specifics Case Solution

An MBA classroom discussion revealed the dangers of learning which "theories-in use" aren't challenged and suggests strategies for more brooding learning. Two groups of pupils presented their positions at a conceptual level without grounding their conceptual argument in the details of their own private, collected experiences that were the source of their personal theories-in use.

Thus, the bulk was not able to understand the instance scenario under discussion was distinct from ones that changed their view and they'd struck before. The minority couldn't demonstrate that their own theory was, actually, the one that is right although their own theory-shaping experiences were considerably better approximations of the scenario in the instance. The inherent issue, it appears, is that both camps deprived themselves and others of participating in an inductive discovery procedure by refusing their audiences the opportunity to live (vicariously) the encounters that shaped their conceptual perspective of the world.
