Reducing the Complaints Backlog at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission Case Solution

The federal Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is an agency which is charged with investigation of non-criminal charges of civil rights-related breaches in the U.S. workplace, including racial and sex discrimination. This case describes the attempts to reform its internal processes of the bureau do as to take care of a staggering backlog of 19-month up to charges--almost 100,000--and delays for resolution.
It sheds lighton crucial tactical decisions which must establish the stage for greater efficacy--especially the problem of whether every charge must be processed in exactly the same way, of whether the agency should find means to concentrate its effort on charges judged to be important.
