Solution 1: Change the Organizational Structure

There is a need of change in the organizational structure. The current change of reporting the MD and CEO has badly affected the performance of Michael. He had some conflicts with MD, due to which he started manipulating the real data of the company’s performance. The change should include the procedure in which James will be responsible to report Michael, then he will report to MD and CEO. James will work independently without any interference from Michael, whereas the segment managers will be able set the achievable targets. Michael won’t be able to manipulate the real data. This will motivate the employees of the company and the GM as well.

Solution 2:James Setting the Sales Target

James has good market knowledge and he possesses a good command on enhancing the sales and profits of the company. The targets set by Michael were just to show the positive picture of the company’s performance. He kept the CEO and MD in dark, which resulted in a significant downfall of the quarterly sales and profits of the company. The MD and CEO were not aware of the current situation because of which they were not able to make proper strategies to avoid these downfalls in future. James tried his level best to make Michael realize his mistake, but he himself came under Michael’s pressure and kept the MD and CEO in dark. The segment managers and GM James will be free from Michael’s pressure after this. The sales and profits of the company will grow in future, and they would be able to expand their market share in future. Otherwise, the company will face huge losses, which might cause the company to wind-up its organization from India. After informing the CEO and MD; James will be able to work independently, instead of resigning from his job.

Recommendation

The best solution in current scenario is to inform the CEO and MD about the events taking place in the company being ethically wrong. The unethical practices demotivated the employees and GM, which resulted in them resigning from their jobs. Instead of causing themselves trouble for Michael’s wrong deeds, the GM and other employees should inform the higher authorities so they could take action against Michael’s dominancy and making the employees follow his unethical practices The segment managers and GM will be free from the supervision of Michael, who was working in against of the company, by hiding his faults. This unethical act would negatively impact the employees’ perception and they will start manipulation and hiding of data if the problem is left unaddressed.......................
