Development and Promotion at North Atlantic Hospital Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Dr. Elizabeth Harris, Head of the Department of Anesthesiology (DA) in the North Atlantic Hospital (NAH), faces a number of serious problems. Staff satisfaction surveys confirmed his assessment that the department faculty morale was low, ownership and promotion is perceived as opaque and biased against researchers to doctors, and in general, the faculty felt the organization had little interest in their professional development and well-being.
