DesignTex, Incorporated (A) Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

DesignTex, Incorporated (A) Case Solution

Susan Lyons, a vice president at DesignTex, a company that develops high end custom material selections, needs to create an environmentally accountable material which will supply a model for sustainable design. Lyons consults with William McDonough, a famous designer of environmentally sustainable buildings and fabrics, whose stated ideal is that "no environmental hazard is okay." The A case asks pupils to determine whether the principles of McDonough go too much--whether it's truly needed or possible to redesign the compound protocols to create a totally compostable product that emerges from an entirely clean production procedure and follows the development of a fresh furniture material.
