January 27, 2005 was amazing successful day for Gillette's, James Kilts, as it was a show-stopping turn around which is also knownas the "Razor Boss of Boston." Kilts, along with Procter & Gamble chairman, Alan Lafleydid an acquisition of $57 billion which was of Gillette by P&G.

Moreover, this deal also consisteda string of courtships between Gillette and other companies that had grown and waned throughout Kilts's stewardship of Gillette at various stages. But almost immediately after the transaction was announced, P&G and Gillette drew criticism from the media of Massachusetts concerning the state and the terms of the deal.
