An Exercise in Designing a Travel Coffee Mug Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Recently design has emerged as a crucial factor in the success of several new products. This case exercise provides a hands on experience to design process and offers a structured approach for featuring crucial considerations that may assist in effective design. Useful info on existing coffee mugs as well as on the consumer java marketplace is provided. To help pupils in this task, they are presented with a strategy applied by the design firm RKS and has been labeled Psycho-Aesthetics by its leader Ravi Sawhney.

When combined, these evaluations allow designers to conceive components that can result in a new service or product that delivers a distinctive customer connection for a certain target market. It then asks them to follow the PA process to create a reusable travel coffee mug. The exercise comprises exhibits to help students visualize the market, and an appendix with a comprehensive explanation of the PA process.
