Dr. Pemberton sold shares of his business to multiple partners with the majority of interest sold to the well-known business person in Atlanta, Asa Griggs Candler. Mr. Candler introduced Coca-Cola as a carbonated soft drink in the market. Under the leadership of Candler, the distribution of Coca-Cola expanded to soda fountain outside Atlanta.
