Introduction

As it is the case with the rest of the world, United States of America is also an aging society. Therefore, it is going to place significant pressures upon the long term and the short term publicly funded health programs and the income support programs in United States. The purpose of this paper is to demonstrate the links between the healthy and the unhealthy adults of United States of America based upon a range of the demographic characteristics(Kutner M, 2006).

The current growth of the older adults and the proportion of the older adults in United States are rapidly growing and it is unprecedented in the history of the nation. It has been anticipated that by the end of the year 2050, the number of the people with an average age of 65 years would average around 89 million in United States(Washington, 2010). There are basically two realities, which are driving the population of the adults in America. The first one is that the Americans of today’s era are living a longer life than the previous decades and also as a result of the baby boom post the World War II, the proportion of the adults is more as compared to the previous generations.

Majority of the Americans today are living their lives at the age of 70 and 80 years. Since the January 1, 2011, most of the Americans are going to celebrate their 65th birthday over the period of the next 20 years. It has also been estimated that by the end of the year 2030, the last baby boomer will turn to an age of 65 years and by the end of the year 2030, it is predicted that among the 72 million people in United States, one of every five would be an older adult(Services, 2010).

The aging of the adults of America is a natural thing however, the impact on their health is dependent upon a range of the factors prevailing in the society of America and this has implications of the short term and the long term health related programs of America. This report aims to analyze the correlations between a ranges of the factors based on demographic characteristics and also aims to show the dependency of the healthy life of American adults on a range of variables.

Background

The aging of the American population has broad range of implications for the range of the fields and the facets of the American society. Most of the Americans are represented by their majority of the proportion in the baby boomers and this has impacted on a range of the variables associated with the economy of America. The literature review below defines the core crusts of American aging population.

Literature Review

The importance and the benefits associated with a healthy living have been addressed in the literature by the jurisdictions of different countries from Hong Kong to United States of America. There are a range of reasons that have been identified by the literature as the main reasons for planning carefully all the different phases of life. Planning helps the individuals to decide that how they can best plan their work and when they need to retire.

In this way the individuals can make the most of their lifestyles and make the most of their phases of life. A study had been conducted by Stats Canada and it had been identified by the study that around 40% of the total retired workers had shown none of the 40% of the retired workers had plans for their financial well being that were adequate(Fredriksen-Goldsen KI, 2011). Not so long ago, those people that retired from their work usually lived a very few years after their retirement and then they died.Statistical Research Assignment Case Solution

However, the life expectancy of the adults has increased to a great extent in today’s era. For instance, all those Canadian adults that are aged around 65 years are expected to live 16 years of additional life after their 65th birthday and the women on average live a 20 years after an age of 65 years. It is also expected and researches in many studies that in United States, more than around 10 million people are expected to live up to an age of 100 years. Hong Kong is the country where the average life span of the men and women after the age of 65 years is longest of about 17 years and 20.7. years respectively(Kanny( D, 2012)......................
