South African Mining and Asbestos-Related Diseases (B) Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Other South African applicants in a lawsuit against the multinational companies, including Cape PLC, sickness and disease, which in the mining of asbestos approached damages when several British law firms set to work. The original firm, Leigh, Day & Co, fought for the rights of the applicants' claim in a British court, rather than the South African courts, the last of which would be much less room for applicants. British House "of Lords ruling in favor of the applicants gave them hope, but that decision was reversed a year later, leaving the whole of the legal case, the uncertainty and the possibility of compensation bleak prospect. This case is part of a series marked by D (UV1350 through UV1353).
