Corrib Gas project is years behind schedule and over budget. SEPIL must not only complete the project, but must do so in accordance with their own principles of corporate social responsibility. This case provides an opportunity to examine the problems implicit in the use of approaches stakeholder management. Students must evaluate the various options available to SEPIL, such as: If the gas will be processed at sea, and the more stringent demands of the protesters? If recycling is to be moved to the area are homeless, as other protesters want, which will mean a significant write-down of investments? However, this project is completed at any cost? Finally, despite all the necessary statutory approvals, final implementation will likely require the use of the National Police (Irish National Police) and other resources the Irish State and its security contract to force Shell to keep protesters at bay. But what are the possible consequences of such an impact on the corporate reputation of Shell, and that if something goes wrong? It's not just what course of action SEPIL chooses to spend, but the action is implemented, that matters. This case is the most suitable for use in MBA and upper level undergraduate in business ethics, business and society, international business, and business and the environment. "Hide
