Introduction

Lincoln is the movie that shows the journey of struggle with the help of negotiation on the human’s right of living. This is an autobiographical film based on the final four months of America’s famous former president Abraham Lincoln. This movie explains the difficulties faced by Abraham Lincoln during his era as the President of the United States of America. It mainly focuses on the complexities that his administrative had team gone through at the time when they raised their voice to end slavery.

In the existing scenario when the movie starts, the viewer’s found themselves in the position of civil war that was. fought between the slave states and the confederate states of America. The cause of the battle was found to be the slavery system forcefully applied to seven southern states. For which the combined solution proposed by Lincoln and his representatives was 13th amendment law. According to this law, none of the states could be bound in the slavery system, and even no one is allowed to have a servant that is being purchased or acquired as slaves.

 For this Lincoln, who had just reappointed as a president of the United States of America during the period of continuation of the civil war. He was trying to convince all the decision makers and his representatives to look serious into this slavery system which had turned the common people into a rebellious army who just wanted to free their states from slavery. Lincoln’s efforts changed the point of view of U.S officials that in turn resulted that the 13th amendment was successfully passed.

In order to persuade the stakeholders to show them the positive side of the picture Lincoln adopts four basic styles of negotiation, which begins with the formation of a primary goal of negotiation that was to end up the war and implement slavery free system. Thirdly Lincoln was certain about his vision for which he was giving rationale to convince everyone present in the conference to take the right decision. The final negotiation method used by the leader was to make people feel comfortable so that they keep themselves apart from emotional assaults and make a justified decision.

Abraham Lincoln’s prime purpose was to make the slave state free which consequently will diminish the civil war and bring peaceful living environment. Lincoln was planning for this movement since he first became the president. The communication process used in this movie mainly highlights this process between Abraham Lincoln and Francis Preston Blair on the necessity of votes. By observing the direction of the wind, it was evident that the amendment would not be able to pass, for this Lincoln understood the importance of augmented election. He knew that in order the amendment to be passed, he would be needing more votes, so he turned to a man named Francis Preston Blair. He turned to Blair because he knew he possessed the power to cast votes from the western and Border States. When Lincoln asked Blair to do this and Blair insisted that Lincoln should allow him to send out a peace negation. However, Blair had the opinion that this was a good idea because the outcomes of the war were looking disastrous.......................
