Kirsty Paakkanen achieved celebrity status in Finland for its mysterious guide of the Finnish company Marimekko design. Buying a company in a state close to bankruptcy in 1991, Paakkanen adopted a number of measures to restore profitability and to realize growth. In 2006, sales of 64 million euros (of which 80% are from Finland) and a net profit of 8.4 million euros. Over the past few years, Paakkanen and her team focused on the development of international sales.
