The change had been planned and implemented by the integration team. Both goals to maintain momentum and keep the core value of Golden West operations in place were attained. From the time the arrangement was pronounced, Wachovia and Golden West had been cross-selling the products of each other.

Much time was devote early on in getting all parties up to momentum. But the whole thing fell apart after the integration when in July of 2007 Wachovia took a tremendous hit in the mortgage-lending catastrophe.
