Indianapolis: Activity-Based Costing of City Services (A) Case Solution

Nevertheless, the city managers need to understand the present price of performing these services with the municipal workers before taking this activity. Existing systems that are monetary record how much the city has been spending by sections and practical groups, but include no information about the expense of supplying services.
The city creates a task force to develop action-based (ABC) approximations of the price of filling potholes. It reveals the municipal workers the info and enables them to institute new price-saving processes to allow them to submit their own bid in competition with private contractors.
