In September 2006, it became known that the company Hewlett-Packard (HP) has been conducting extensive research of its staff, board members, and journalists outside the company. The investigation was initiated in response to a series of leaks to the press, which can only come from senior members of the company. Fully understand the context of the events of September, however, requires knowledge of government personalities and events that began when former CEO Carly Fiorina, and still think that a successful turn at his successor, Mark Hurd.
