Hermitage’s Russian Quandary (A) Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

This case was co-authored with Columbia Business School. In the June 2007, the offices of Russian hedge fund Hermitage Capital were raided by Moscow authorities; in the months that follow, Hermitage creator Bill Browder found himself banned from Russia and fending off attempts to confiscate the fund's Russian assets. This case depict the challenges faced by Hermitage in reacting to these hazards, and more generally discusses the dangers of doing business in a business environment with poor political and legal associations
