Flinder Valves and Controls Inc Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Establish in May 2008, this case reflects the separate perspectives of Bill Flinder and chief executive officers Tom Eliot as they approach the dialogues of RSE International Corporation to acquire Controls Inc. and Flinder Valves The job for the student is to complete a valuation evaluation of the target and buyer and to negociate a price and exchange ratio with the counterparty. The purpose of the case design is for students to be organized into teams and assigned to play the part of Flinder Valves or RSE International in the discussion.

The case provides supplementary private information for each side of the transaction. Thus, an unique element of the case is negotiating the terms of acquisition in an environment of asymmetric information. The instance supplies a first exercise in the dialogue of an acquisition and is relatively straightforward. It could also be instructed in the normal case-talk style instead of the planned joint-dialogue exercise
