Hertz & Dollar Thrifty Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Mark Frissora, chairman and Hertz's chief executive officer of the Board, were pushing the company's chief financial officer, Elyse Douglas, to develop a figure. The figure was how much still generate value for the investors of Hertz but Hertz should bid to get Dollar Thrifty.

Frissora had continuously pursued the procurement of Dollar Thrifty for approximately 3 years now, and yet a deal remained elusive. "It is now or never," Frissora told Douglas in early August 2012, when he asked her to think of a suggested bid for Dollar Thrifty before the week finished.
