Diversity Goals: Reframing the Debate and Enabling a Fair Evaluation Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

While diversity has enjoyed significant popularity in the corporate world for the past two decades, researchers continue to put forward contradictory results concerning the business advantages of workplace diversity. Some say workplace diversity is good for companies; others claim it's an undertaking full of challenges; and others assert that it doesn't actually matter. Bearing this in your mind, we attempted to synthesize the research that evaluates the impact of workplace diversity on the organizational bottom line.

We discover an over emphasis on demonstrating the business case of diversity in economical denominations, which-to some extent-has restricted our understanding of the complicated dynamics related to diversity. We identify too little attention toward institutional forces as truly one of the reasons that has limited our focus on only economic increases. Overall, we advocate broadening our definition of aims that organizations have when embracing diversity initiatives by including 'increase of legality' and 'creation of goodwill' as part of the essential effects of diversity plans.
