Deere & Co. Worldwide Logistics Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

As a manufacturer and distributor of agricultural equipment, and a wide range of construction and forestry equipment, Deere & Co. had a lot riding on the smooth flow of its logistics function. FedEx Logistics, provided outsourced transport services to 11 Deere facilities across North America. But with each of the individual business units Deere responsible for logistics operations, and negotiate with each unit a separate contract for services with the possibility of FedEx, costs and services tend to vary in different units. Manager Deere design logistics asked student summer internship to assess the logistics of the agreement with FedEx, to identify opportunities for standardization of costs and services to the business units.
