The case explores two viewpoints: (1) a business organization weathering the economic depression, where it is opposite to the firm's 'belt-tightening' measures to hire a replacement for a member of staff on leave; (2) the company's track record in the CSR industry including its promotion of opportunities for women. The situation aims to develop a predicament for pupils. Some will protect the right of Sonia for a maternity leave and also to continue working with fertility therapy and the fact, especially in the light of her trials and tribulations in MRW that the pregnancy is a speculative one. Others will protect the organization’s pursuits, claiming that the situation is crucial and that the internationalization of MRW is imperative for the business' business advancement. The latter team will concentrate on the job of Sonia in starting the internationalization job, of what to do about pregnancy of Sonia; the question is a vital one for both the Technology Department as well as for Sonia.
