Airbnb Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

Abstract (Maximum of 2,000 Characters): The Airbnb case describes the really early days of the startup, starting with the creators' initial idea of renting out air beds and serving breakfast ("Airbed and Breakfast") in their flat to convention attendees as an alternative to expensive hotel rooms.

The business grew by supplying finding lodging alternatives in people's houses for attendees of big events for example South by Southwest and the Democratic National Convention. Despite high spikes in activity related to these occasions and favorable reviews, the creators confronted challenges achieving sustainable growth. In early 2009, they connected Y-Combinator and were forced to confront a number of decisions around how to enhance the product such that it could grow into a prosperous, long-term business.
