The New York City Department of Health and Mental Hygiene's Physical Activity and Nutrition Program needed to think of an advanced solution to the many health problems, for example obesity, diabetes, and heart disease that harassed residents of poorer places in the city, while raising economic chance for neighborhood residents. The result was the launching of Green Handcarts, a fresh mobile food vending initiative to support the introduction of healthier food alternatives to the populace of "food deserts" in the New York City district.
