Transforming AMFAM Harvard Case Solution & Analysis

On a winter day in December 2007, an American family of mutual insurance (AMFAM), headquartered in Madison, Wisconsin, Dave Anderson and Jack Salzwedel stayed in the hall after the senior management meeting concluded. Anderson, CEO AMFAM January 2007 and Salzwedel, appointed president in August 2006, reflected together on how the company has come in the past two years. As recalled meetings in which executives just read a report on the activities to help prepare the previous CEO largely ceremonial meeting of the Board of Directors. These days, they felt the energy and movement at different levels - be it in a strategic planning meeting, or in Salzwedel recent visit to the regional office of the person to explain the content and motivation for the new strategic plan of the company. Anderson and Salzwedel were glad we just kind of put the meeting involved discussion, "tow", and arguments were encouraging.
