'The Story after the Story': The Los Angeles Time's Coverage of Arnold Schwarzenegger Case Solution
This case is about the selection of a brand new Governor in California, the Los Angeles Times printed a lengthy investigative article about allegations of sexual misconduct on the part of the leading nominee: movie star turned Republican gubernatorial hopeful Arnold Schwarzenegger.
The result was astonishing. So also did it do the same for the Times itself as it made Schwarzenegger the topic of discussion. This happened partially due to Arnold’s background and partially due to \a history of criticism of the newspaper for what its critics alleged was a liberal political bias, the Times found itself having to defend openly its determination to do what it understood to be an integral obligation of a leading daily newspaper-scrutinizing the record of a politician.
